What can Canopy Tree Services do to your Trees?

Canopy Tree Services can undertake a complete range of arboricultural services all work complies with British Standards (BS3998).  All waste is removed and the site is left tidy.

Felling Cutting trees down in urban environments normally requires climbing them and removing them piece by piece.  All that is left is a stump, which we can have ground out if you require.
Crown Reducing The cutting back of branches to reduce the size of the canopy.  Crown reduction should generally be avoided.  Represented as a percentage, not normally more the 25%.  You cannot make a big tree into a small tree. 
Pollarding Hard pruning involving the removal of all or nearly all of a trees branches, should be avoided on most species.  The main exception being willows.
Crown Lift The removal of lower branches to prevent obstruction and admit more light.  Represented as a height in metres above the ground, i.e. 4m lift.
Crown Thin The thinning out of branches within the crown of a tree to admit more light.  Often required in trees which have been badly pruned in the past.  Expressed as a percentage to be removed, i.e. 15%.
 

 

Deadwood/ Crown Clean The removal of dead, diseased and rubbing branches from the tree.
 

 

Planting We can source a variety of trees of all different sizes, plant, stake and mulch them.  Giving them the best chance for long healthy life.
 

 

Hedges We can trim and reduce all sizes and heights of hedge especially leylandii and are up to date with the new high hedge legislation, which can see you fined up to £1000
  Tree Surveys/ Tree Reports We can produce tree reports identifying any hazards or problems associated with your trees and recommend actions to remedy them    
  Tree Protection Orders/ Conservation Areas We can advise on TPO's and will complete all paperwork required when working on protected trees for FREE!  Please inform us if you believe your tree might be protected as and fines are shared between the owner and the tree surgeon.
 

 

Stump Grinding Once felled the stumps can be ground out.

Woodchip Seasoned woodchip is available by the bag (£3) or as a truck load (£60)

 

We DO NOT "top" trees, this is tree mutilation, unsightly, damaging to the tree and will end up costing more in the long run.  Topped trees will need frequent maintenance or may become dangerous.
