Who are Canopy Tree Services?

Canopy Tree Services is a partnership established in April 2004 between Steve Barker and Ben Edmonds. We now have helping us out Anthony Smith and Russell Alcock.

Steve was a dairy farmer for 20 years and in 2004 decided to change career after many years of hard work with little rewards.  He has extensive experience and varied skills obtained from his time at agricultural college and a lifetime working on a farm.   He has obtained NPTC CS30/31/36 and completed a Practitioners Guide to Visual Tree Assessment.  He is currently working towards gaining more tree climbing qualifications.

Ben trained as a secondary school biology teacher with a BSc in Ecology.  Like Steve he also decided on a career change and since 2000 has been working in arboriculture .  He passed  the  Plumpton College Tree Surgery Course with a distinction, gaining  NPTC CS30/31/36/38/39, PA1/PA6a and HSE First Aid at Work.  He has also attended various arboricultural seminars and training events including, Tree Micro-Ecology: Perceptions of Disease & Decay in Trees, Professional Tree Inspection, Bats and Arboriculture, Claus Mattheck's Visual Tree Assessment and a Practitioners Guide to Visual Tree Assessment.   He is currently working towards his RFS  Professional Diploma in Arboriculture.
